Nigel Anthony (born 23 December 1941) is a theatre, television, and radio actor. His theatre work includes "Twelfth Night", 'Dutch Uncle'', Happy End, The Taming Of The Shrew for the Royal Shakespeare Company and seasons at Scarborough with Alan Ayckbourn. Television appearances include Ted Roach in Casualty (series 1 and 2) ''The Diary of Anne Frank'', ''Coronation Street'', ''Midsomer Murders'' and ''Doctors''. Anthony has narrated many TV documentaries and his voice has been heard in countless advertisements, most particularly for ''Tesco'' and ''Orange''. He is the winner of both a |Sony award and a Radio Times award for his radio performances. Recent radio projects include the much praised "Life and Fate" for BBC Radio 4 with Kenneth Branagh and Harold Pinter's version of "The Heat Of The Day", as Claude Erskine Brown in"Rumpole Of The Bailey" and as Archdeacon Grantley in "The Last Chronicle Of Barset" In 2011, Anthony played Evelyn Waugh, opposite Fenella Fielding as Nancy Mitford, in the sell-out production of "Dearest Nancy...Darling Evelyn" at the Jermyn Street Theatre, London.
